Who puts beer in popcorn? We do! We’d already added bourbon to our bacon popcorn so why stop there?
With the holidays coming up, we knew we wanted a gingerbread popcorn. Is there anything else that provides a more immediate connection to sugarplum fairies?
Gingerbread provided such wonderful depth to the caramel, we wanted to balance it out with additional flavor and mellowness. Ironically, stout did the trick. Guinness does a nice job in cakes and other foods, so after experimenting with a few stouts, classic Guinness turned out to be the winner! The alcohol is cooked out, which leaves a grownup gingerbread yuletide popcorn.
